How to Clean and Maintain the Mesh Cage

After a disease outbreak or at the end of the season, soak the entire cage in a 5% bleach solution (19 parts water to 1 part bleach) for about 20 minutes. Use a laundry tub or bathtub. Rinse thoroughly with water, then let it sun dry by hanging on a clothesline or placing a rock inside to keep it from blowing away. For everyday cleaning, simply wipe the bottom.

Handy Tips for Use

• Always close the cage door so the zippers meet at the top center. If a caterpillar is on the zipper, you can zip down the other side to open.
• To fold the cage, place your hands on opposite upper corners and press one corner in to collapse it flat.
• This habitat works well for monarchs, painted ladies, black swallowtails, and even praying mantis.
